In Conversation with the Cast & Crew of Khamosh


It was an evening to remember as Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 1985 classic thriller – Khamosh was on the table for discussion for the ‘In Conversation with Stars’ session yesterday at PVR Juhu, Mumbai.

Rohan Sippy, the Director of Dum Maaro Dum moderated the conversation & started by calling Khamosh the best works of Indian cinema. Shabana Azmi seemed to be pretty enthusiastic about the discussion; she wanted to share her experience of working in the movie Khamosh.  As the conversation begun, many facts about the movie like – location, budget, actors, fights etc came out.

Amol Palekar shared his moment on his own daughter got scared of him after watching the movie and that this was a huge compliment to his acting talent which was possible only due to Vinod Chopra’s direction. Amol Palekar also added saying that ‘Khamosh’ is one of the best works by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Sudhir Mishra shared a few technical challenges faced during that time.

There was also a debate on gap between the two generations as the question answer session begun. Amol Palekar talked about how in their ‘times’ movies were made with very little technology & how it has become easy for the younger generation to make movies.  Sudhir Mishra pointed out the fact about today’s generation being technologically dependant but also bridging the gap between the generations. Shabana shared her fear of loss of human resources as today’s generation is getting more & more dependent on technology than human connectivity.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra also mentioned about his upcoming release Ferrari Ki Sawaari and added that this is the best films he’s produced so far!

Many left with a desire to watch Khamosh & get thrilled all over again!
